The Riemland Wine Route

Francolin Creek is one of two wine cellars forming part of the Riemland Wine Route - inspired by the Cape wine tasting and sales tradition.

Francolin Creek offers the full range of wines from:

  • Kloovenburg Vineyards, Shiraz  country, Riebeek Kasteel
  • Groote Post upon Darling Hills, situated 7km from the Atlantic
  • Babylon’s Peak, nestled in the slopes of Paardeberg near Malmesbury

Goedehoop Wine Cellar:

  • Markets the well-known Van Loveren wines from the estate by the same name near Robertson;

These two farms are 60km apart and have formed a Cape wine tasting experience only two hours from Johannesburg. Cellars built underneath 100-year old farmhouses, alongside savannah grasslands or meandering rivers come complete with the full range of Cape wine tasting facilities, from wooden tables and narrow-rimmed wine-sniffing glasses, spittoons, to water jugs for cleansing the palate and a complete stock of fine Cape wines for purchase.

A weekend package for a minimum of 10 people or more at an all-inclusive price of R1 700 per person is on offer for a memorable wine tasting experience.
Children under 12 years of age stay at only 50%.

Guests arrive Friday afternoon from 14:00 at Francolin Creek. That evening they can enjoy a delicious steak braai or traditional “Potjie”.
